We were delighted to be joined by Warwickshire cricketers Will Rhodes and Jake Lintott to officially open our new astro facility. The children were really excited and had prepared questions in advance for the players as part of a Q&A assembly. Following the assembly there were class photos with the players as well as the County Championship and Bob Willis trophies won by Warwickshire in 2021, before the players cut the ribbon of the astroturf cage door with the whole school cheering behind them. Finally, classes 4 and 5 were the lucky ones chosen to have coaching sessions with the Warwickshire players and coaches. They were great fun for everyone, with children receiving tips and showing some excellent skills.

As a school, we wish to thank Warwickshire for being kind enough to set this up and for the players and coaches giving up their time to be with us. Thanks also for the continued coaching sessions from Warwickshire and Chance to Shine. These have been really beneficial and we look forward to further cricket with them in the New Year. In the meantime, we look forward to our first cricket fixture this week against St John Bosco on the astro.
